All this talk about the new Ford Fiesta and Focus.
But in September they are also releasing the new Ford KA+.
Current.
New. Active pictured.
They are already taking orders, as with the Focus.
Base spec, Style.
Mid range, Zetec.
Top spec, Active.
The top spec (without options) new KA+ comes in a very small amount under the base (Style) of new Fiesta.
Hmmm, I wonder if Ford will Active the Mondeo!?

Hmmm, I wonder if Ford will Active the Mondeo!?
I don’t think so. The current Mondeo is old. When it becomes time to retire this generation of Mondeo I doubt Ford will introduce a replacement.
Remember the last Scorpio? I’m guessing the current Mondeo is the last Mondeo.

Yes, but the Scorpio was ugly as sin, never sold in any appreciable numbers and often out classed by others in the market.
The Mondeo still sells quite well in it’s three forms outside the U.S.

Pfft, who cares about the Ka, it’s been eons past it’s prime!
The Transits (sans the big one) have all just got refreshed! That’s the big news!

The Connect was briefly addressed a while back.
The KA+ is an oddity. The KA+ was based on the Mk4 (U.K. gen 5) Fiesta and called the Figo for non Euro countries, so to then bring it to Europe alongside the new Fiesta and while it looks smaller than the Fiesta, look at the specs, is only a couple of cms here and there. Then they release a ‘new’ version, which looks like a mere face lift, but now also a slightly lifted Active version.
So it’s a several previous generation older Fiesta, made to look up to date, almost exact size and model range tops out just a few hundred pounds below a base Fiesta.
It’s like at work, we sell a packet of 6 Energiser batteries for £7.50, a 10 pack of Energiser batteries for £8 or buy two packs of 10 for £9. Who’s buying the small pack when you can have so much more for so little more. (Even if the KA+ only looks smaller, it isn’t, but harder to explain to people what your car is and why you chose it over a Fiesta).
